This interactive presentation will expose participants to varying experiences of transgender and gender non-conforming persons in accessing medical care. Using a model of care as a guide, participants will discuss techniques on how to include gender-affirming approaches in their practice. The goal of this presentation is to impart cultural humility so that care providers are able to meet patients “where they are” and effectively provide a safe, welcoming and culturally appropriate clinic environment.
